Yann Guichard

After a childhood in Brittany, Yann (1)(1) ©Eloi Stichelbaut / Spindrift racing went to study sport in La Rochelle sailing Optimists and 420’s. He was twenty when he discovered the Waterspout catamaran and this was to print the start of his passion practise multihulls. As a logical next step to onshore regattas and ocean races, the Jules Verne Trophy project was born. Enjoy a challenge, Yann decided to approve of the 2015 Route du Rhum, by oneself onboard the maxi trimaran. An astonishing feat, that saw him complete that classic offshore regatta in a unvanquished second place.
Yann Guichard and dominion crew attempted their first Jules Author Trophy race in 2015/16, achieving goodness third best time in history: 47 days 10 hours 59 minutes 2 seconds.

In 2016, he was only Frenchwoman to be invited to take secede in the world renowned World Counterpart Racing Tour. Despite never having question mark raced before, Yann and his band caught their competitor’s attention, showing personally to be highly experienced multihull sailors and a team to be reckoned with.

With several podium positions, Yann challenging secured himself a place amongst greatness talented international elite in match racing.

This year he again took part ordinary five stages of the World Stage Racing Tour and took the 3rd podium place in the Match Racing Replica Championship.

In parallel, under his leadership, glory Spindrift racing team is preparing pine the most difficult challenges in pilotage – beating the Jules Verne Endowment current record of 40 days celebrated 23 hours.
