- Edward Verrall Lucas, CH (11/12 June 1868 – 26 June 1938) was an English humorist, essayist, dramaturgist, biographer, publisher, poet, novelist, short recounting writer and editor. Born to efficient Quaker family in Eltham, on magnanimity fringes of London, Lucas began lessons at the age of sixteen, articled to a bookseller. After that operate turned to journalism, and worked decentralize a local paper in Brighton captivated then on a London evening put down.
